MADE IN DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS

It’s time to take local boutique apparel international, and Stitch Factory, L.A.-based CHASER brand clothing and BungalowClothing.com are paving the way with the first Made in Downtown Las Vegas competition on May 15 at Stitch Factory.

Interested designers should submit sketches or the actual garment, as well as flats representing the construction of the garment, mood board, pricing strategies, and a fabric swatch by Thursday, April 10. The submission fee is $20, and can be paid at TicketCake.com.

The top 10 designs will need to be made into samples and will be modeled on the runway at Stitch Factory and BungalowClothing’s summer fashion show. The Made in Downtown Las Vegas winning piece will be included in CHASER’s Holiday 2014 collection, and sold in premium boutiques around the world and exclusively online at BungalowClothing.com. The winner will receive royalties from sales of the item.

“Collaborating with a brand of this caliber is a huge opportunity, and the chance to have your design made available to a national and international audience of buyers is huge,” Stitch Factory’s Jen Taler said. “To also have your name on the garment’s hangtag and receive a percentage of the royalties is just such a huge opportunity for local designers.”

A panel of judges will evaluate submitted garments during the runway show, and will evaluate the submissions on well-balanced creative expression, style and marketability. The winning piece should also fit cohesively with CHASER’s aesthetic.
