A Cajun po-boy shop by chef Brandon Trahan, Zydeco Po-Boys opened its doors on Monday, June 15 at the northwest corner of Carson Avenue and 7th Street (in the same building that’s home to Glutton, VegeNation and A Cut Above the Rest). Open 11 am – 9 pm daily, the po-boy menu includes Cajun sausage, Cajun turkey, debris (oven roasted brisket), ham, fried catfish, and fried shrimp, as well as the Zydeco Special, featuring ham, turkey, and brisket.
Zydeco Po-Boys also serves Cajun favorites like gumbo (either chicken and sausage, or vegan), and red beans and rice, as well as Cajun fries, dirty Cajun fries (golden fries topped with house-made Cajun sausage, caramelized onions, provolone, and pepperoncini peppers), Cajun onion rings, and Cajun potato salad.
Trahan, who previously cooked at Emeril Lagasse’s Emeril’s Fish House and Table 10, as well as Summerlin-area favorite Marche Bacchus, grew up in Creole, La. The youngest of six kids, Trahan grew up watching his mother cook for the family. Zydeco Po-Boys’ menu is inspired by the food he grew up with, and features southern favorites like house-made Cajun sausage and Cajun deli turkey, oven-roasted brisket, and bread from New Orleans’ Leidenheimer Baking Co., Abita beers.
Zydeco Po-Boys also serves soft drinks, beer, hard cider, and frozen daiquiris available in in two flavors, Blue Bayou and Gator Bite.
