Downtown Denizen - Heather Wilde

Unicorn Whisperer, ROCeteer

What is something about you that most people don’t know?
I am a classically trained opera singer, although I haven't performed publicly in more than 15 years.

If you won $100 million, what would you buy first?
I would buy an airplane; something like a Cessna 400.

If you had to choose just one place to vacation every year for the rest of your life, where would it be?
Mauritius. It's a small island in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

If someone were to make a movie about your life, who would you hope would play you?
Anna Kendrick, because she seems just the right amount of geeky, and she can sing.

What are some of the different jobs that you have had in your life?
I have worked in government, been a debt collector, a flight attendant, scooped ice cream - you name it, I've probably done it.

Who was your childhood celebrity crush?
Davy Jones of the Monkees. He was such a dreamboat!

Which Muppet is your favorite?
Gonzo's chickens.

What was the last great movie you saw?
That's a tough choice for me between The Hundred-Foot Journey and The Grand Budapest Hotel - they were both so great in different ways.

What was the last great book you read?
I just finished re-reading a series of books I love by Jasper Fforde, starting with The Eyre Affair. They're so unlike anything else out there - well worth the read.

The last concert you attended?
I saw 311 for 4th of July, and they were awesome.

If you could give one piece of advice to your 10-year-old self, what would it be?
Keep on doing what you're doing - everything will work out.

In one sentence, what does the future of Downtown Las Vegas look like to you?
I see the future of Downtown Vegas as a place where businesses are thriving, families are living, and children are growing up in a safe, sustainable, walkable community.

What weapon would you carry during the Zombie Apocalypse?
Hot sauce. I am pretty sure I'll be one of the first to go down, and I hear Zombies like a little heat with their meat.

What is your favorite downtown venue?
They're all so good! You can often find me with some O Face Doughnuts or hanging out at Carson Kitchen.
